Sound Sensativity
Up to 70% of individuals with autism experience sound sensitivity. While many children are over-sensative to low humming noises, many others find high-pitched noises the most irratating. No matter the reason, sound sensativity can be very uncomfortable and lead to sensory overload. Noise sensativity in these individuals is not yet fully understood, and research on the topic continues to grow.
